I know the state of some of our roads across Bolsover aren't good enough, but I'm working hard to get them back into shape. I'm reporting hundreds of potholes a week, making resurfacing requests for our worst roads, pushing Minister for more funding in Westminster, and I am in constant dialogue with Cllr Charlotte Cupit, Cabinet Member for Highways at Derbyshire County Council.
The County Council are determined to fix things and have boosted their resources to carry out more repairs. They have up to 25 reactive teams who have been filling nearly 2,500 potholes a week since the start of the year - with many teams out seven days a week.
I've already helped secure £7+ million of additional funding for potholes from the Government and because I helped get HS2 cancelled the Government is investing more money in our local road network with a further £176 million over ten-years allocated from HS2 savings. I am pushing for this money to be delivered across our constituency as quickly as possible.
The new East Midlands Mayor will also have a new £1.5 billion budget to help fix our roads and upgrade local infrastructure. That's why I'm backing Ben Bradley as he has years of experience delivering for our region and we can work closely together to deliver more investment into our roads.
I'll continue to report potholes on behalf of local residents or when I'm out and about myself, but I can't see every single pothole. That's why I'm asking for your help!
Let me know which roads in your area have potholes and I'll work with the County Council to get them fixed.

I’ve been out in Shirebrook and Langwith today visiting the areas you have suggested in my roads survey. The pothole near Top Cat and the state of Langwith Junction continue to be a priority, but I’ve also reported potholes on Laburnum Avenue, Springfield Avenue, and Valley Road.

I’m working my way around the constituency to help with the roads as much as I can, so please let me know about the roads in your are

I’ve received a number of emails and calls regarding the state of our roads locally, which is completely understandable as they are in a poor state.
Obviously the flooding and cold weather does not help, but thats the reality of winter.
Last month whilst out in Heath, I reported a number of potholes on Heather Avenue and wrote to Derbyshire County Council to request road maintenance work.
