I know potholes continue to be a big issue locally and I’m working hard to get our roads back into shape.
I have been reporting hundreds of potholes on behalf of local residents and following-up on enquiries with Cllr Charlotte Cupit, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at Derbyshire County Council, as well as requesting roads to be included in the next round of resurfacing works.
The County Council are working hard to fix things and have boosted their resources to carry out more repairs. They have up to 25 reactive teams who have been filling nearly 2,500 potholes a week since the start of the year – with many teams out seven days a week.
We’ve already secured an extra £7+ million of additional funding for potholes from the Government - with a further £176 million over ten-years allocated from savings made by cancelling HS2. I am pushing for this money to be delivered across our constituency as quickly as possible!
If you have any specific concerns please report them on the Derbyshire County Council website here: https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/.../potholes/potholes.aspx
Or by emailing me on [email protected] with the details (size and location etc). If you have already reported a pothole online and no progress has been made then please provide the FS reference and I’ll ask for an update.
Pictures are of the current resurfacing underway in Bolsover Town End and Moor Lane, and potholes that I have re-reported again today further up Moor Lane.
