Mark Fletcher visited Tibshelf School this week for a tour around their facilities ahead of the return of pupils this month.
Tibshelf School have, like all schools across the Bolsover constituency, worked hard on making their learning environments Covid secure ahead of the return of face-to-face learning this month. Mark has campaigned repeatedly in Westminster to prioritise the reopening of schools as soon as it is safe to do so, to ensure pupils don’t miss any more of their education experience than is necessary.
Mark said
“I was amazed at the amount of work that they had done in such a short amount of time to ensure that the site was COVID secure. Schools are facing a number of challenges that I have taken to the Department for Education so that we can move through this period with as little disruption as possible.
It was brilliant to see all the hard work that has been done to ensure that pupils are able to go back. Education is what gives our young people the opportunity to get on in life and so I am passionate about ensuring that schools are open.
I’d like to say a massive thank you to Mr Pollard and Ms Wainwright for taking the time to show me around and for all the hard work they and their team have done to safely re-open the school.”
