Education

Our education services do a phenomenal job with our constituency but with no provision for post-16 and one of the highest computer illiteracy rates in the region more must be done to tackle both of these issues.

Mark Fletcher MP brings up Bolsover's lack of Post-16 Provision in the Chamber - 2nd March 2020
Today In the chamber, I asked ministers from the Department of Education what was is being done to bolster provisions for post-16 education in our constituency.

SEN Provision

It is important that all children no matter their circumstances are given the care and attention they need to succeed in education.  I have greatly enjoyed working with Stubbin Wood School and local authorities to improve educational standards, leisure and social facilities and employment pathways for residents with SEND.

Park School Federation

During my visit to the school, I was taught the school’s ethos of P.R.I.D.E , it is equally important to me that these children can be proud of their school within the local community. Therefore, I am working with the school to secure necessary funding for maintenance and repair works.

Creswell Infant and Nursery School

I want every child to have to best possible start in life, that’s why I am helping the school’s leadership to secure necessary funding for maintenance and repair works, so our children can be proud of their school.

Sixth Form for Bolsover

As MP for Bolsover I am concerned that we have no post-16 education in the entire constituency. It would be hugely beneficial if we can establish a Sixth Form at The Bolsover School so we can give local kids the best possible start in life.
