It was great to be out with Ben Bradley for East Midlands Mayor and County Council Leader, Barry Lewis, in Glapwell on Sunday morning!
A warm reception on the doorsteps for our work locally, including the new sixth form.
There’s massive opportunities for our constituency with the new East Midlands Mayor, including £1.5 billion for local transport and infrastructure projects! But we can only capitalise on this if we back Ben to deliver for our region.
Ben Bradley said;
I've been over to Chesterfield this week, where I met Conservative parliamentary candidate Ben Flook, along with Bolsover's Mark Fletcher MP and Derbyshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster (pictured). We spoke to local residents at the Loundsley Green Community Centre about the upcoming regional elections, and what it means for the area.
There's a choice on May 2nd between an experience Conservative Mayor with a record of delivering major investment in to our region, and with the experience of working on this devolution deal for two years, which means I know how it works and what's needed. A Conservative Mayor who will be business-focused, increase investment, fix the roads and sort our transport, who will never raise local taxes or impose charges on residents.
OR a Labour Mayor, the ex-MP for Watford, who doesn't have that knowledge or experience, and who risks us ending up with a big bloated 'extra layer' of Council that means residents end up paying more to fund it, just as has happened with other Labour Mayors elsewhere.
