Mark was honoured to speak with pupils at Kirkstead Junior Academy in Pinxton during their assembly this week.
Mark and the students talked about how laws are made and the role of MP's in parliament. A couple of votes were held - the students showed overwhelming support for making Pinxton the capital of England, but banning sweets wasn't quite so popular.
Mark had the pleasure of meeting eight year old Tommy Atkins who has just completed his final sleep out in a handmade shelter, raising over £650 for homeless veterans, a fantastic achievement!
Afterwards Mark had a tour of the school - really impressive immersive learning displays, a beautiful cosy library, and all the children were very respectful and engaged in their lessons.
Thank you to Miss Bentley for showing me around and to Mrs Ingle for the invitation. They are doing a fantastic job! Mark looks forward to visiting John King and Longwood, both also part of Pinxton Villiage Academies in the coming months.
