Earlier today I met with Cllr Tom Kirkham and the Pleasley Pit Trust committee to continue our conversation about parking charges at the Country Park. I was very pleased to be told that the Land Trust had made the decision to suspend their parking charges scheme that morning, and would no longer be asking visitors to pay fees to park. The charges had been having a huge impact in use of the country park by dog walkers and casual visitors, and the on-site cafe had seen a large drop in customers. Visitors can still make donations to assist with the running costs of the site by dropping in to the cafe.
