2022 heralds the Platinum Jubilee year for Her Majesty The Queen, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. Across the Bolsover constituency events are being planned to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee throughout the Bank Holiday Weekend. I’ve listed some of the events on my website, however, please do feel free to let me know of any other free community events taking place across the constituency, and I will update the list.
*Thursday 2nd June*
More than 1,500 beacons are being lit across the UK and Commonwealth at the same time on Thursday 2 June at 9.45pm as part of a four-day celebration of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne. The Platinum Jubilee Beacons is the first community event of the four-day Jubilee Weekend, 2nd-5th June 2022.
Jubilee Beacon - Poulter Country Park, Langwith ( Ceremony and Music from 8.30pm)
Jubilee Beacon - Tarmac Quarry Tunnel Top, Whitwell – 9.35pm for lighting at 9.45pm
Jubilee Beacon – Old Blackwell, St Werburghs Church Yard at 9.45pm
Other events will be taking place during the day across the area;
Jubilee Picnic in the Park - 11am – 1pm at Clowne Cricket Club, High Leys Road, Clowne S43 4DG
