Marking the end of #ApprenticeshipWeek I wanted to thank these shining stars of Alloga's apprenticeship programme, Harrison, Elena, Mark, Beata and Gavin, for sharing their experiences with me yesterday.
I am passionate in my desire to bring skilled jobs to the constituency and raise education and skills levels in our area. Apprenticeships are a great way to build a career, whatever your age or ability, there is something to suit everyone. The enthusiasm of these guys blew me away, and feeling supported, putting theory into practice and increased confidence were just some of the benefits we spoke about.
I visited Alloga just before the Covid-19 pandemic to present them with an Apprentice Employer of the Year award from "Made in the Midlands". They adapted to ensure their apprentices could continue with their learning in business admin, warehouse management, healthcare logistics, throughout the pandemic and the success of those I met today is testament to their hard work.
Thank you to Helen Yarnall for organising, I look forward very much to visiting the site again soon.
