This week Mark finished the summer recess leg of his village hall meetings after a number of successful discussions with residents.
The end of this week sees the end of the Parliamentary summer recess period, as well as the end of Mark’s successful series of village hall meetings over the summer.
After the last 18 months since the start of the pandemic, restrictions have prevented Mark from being able to hold larger village hall forums in which residents have been able to come and discuss issues with their MP. The summer recess has been the first real chance to host a series of these meetings.
The first of the village hall meetings was held at Morton Village Hall at the start of August, with further meetings held in New Houghton, Whitwell, Stonebroom, Arkwright and Barlborough.
The final two meetings were held in Palterton last Thursday and on Tuesday evening in Langwith.
Tuesday’s final village hall of the summer recess saw a lively discussion about youth services, education and support for start-up businesses within the Bolsover constituency.
Commenting on the series Mark said:
“I’ve loved having the chance to get out over the course of the summer recess and speak to residents. Sadly I’ve been unable to do these meetings sooner but sadly COVID prevented it from happening.
“I want to thank everyone for taking the time to come and see me over the course of the last few weeks and contributing to the discussion and debate. I’ve enjoyed every minute of the discussions and I’m pleased to have been able to assist residents with queries and issues along the way.”
