Adult social care in the UK has been given an extra £250 million of funding to help continue COVID-19 protection.
Those being cared for at home or in care homes will benefit from an extra £250 million of Government funding to continue protecting them from COVID-19 transmission. The funding will help meet the costs of infection control and testing so that care providers can continue to protect their staff and residents whilst delivering first class care.
This news comes following Mark’s question in the House last week to the Government asking about their plans to transform adult social care within the UK.
Commenting on the new funding, Mark said:
“I’m pleased to see that the Government is continuing to back our care homes to keep residents and staff safe, even as we come out of the other side of this pandemic. It’s encouraging to see that those in care homes are continuing to receive the support and funding they need to stay safe.
“The funding shows this Governments commitment to those in adult social care. Following my question in the house last week about our plans to transform the sector, it’s reassuring to see that the Government are determined to do all they can to keep residents safe, whilst still delivering world class care.”
