On Wednesday afternoon Mark met with the Minister for Digital and Broadband to discuss issues with broadband in the constituency.
After asking for a meeting with the Minister a few weeks ago in the House of Commons, Mark asked residents online where there are issues with broadband, and whether there was anything specific they would like him to raise.
During the meeting Mark mentioned various issues broadband in different areas of the constituency. With many people working from home and increasingly accessing entertainment and connecting with loved ones via the internet, having good broadband has become essential.
Commenting on the meeting Mark said:
“I’m really pleased to have had the chance to come and meet with Matt and have the chance to feed back some of the comments that residents had left for me on social media.
“We know there are areas of the constituency that continue to suffer from poor internet access. In today’s world, many people are increasingly using their internet for communicating with loved ones and their entertainment, as well as working from home and accessing employment opportunities.
“I’m really grateful to Matt for taking the time to meet with me and discuss how we can work through some of these issues.”
Following the meeting, Mark agreed to follow up with further discussions with BT Openreach about the issues raised.
