Last week Mark Fletcher met with local businesses to discuss the regeneration of Bolsover Town Centre.
Last Friday Mark Fletcher took time to meet with local businesses to discuss potential plans for regenerating Bolsover town centre and building back from the pandemic.
The last year has been incredibly tough for businesses and town centres throughout the UK and the Bolsover constituency. Making sure that town centres throughout Bolsover, from South Normanton in the South of the constituency, Shirebrook in the East and Clowne in the North, will be key to making sure that our area bounces back from the effects of the pandemic.
Mark met with Visit Bolsover, a local campaign group dedicated to improving Bolsover town centre, to discuss how they could work together, along with Bolsover District Council, to support businesses in the town centre getting back on their feet and bringing people back into our town centres throughout the District.
Commenting Mark said:
“It was great to speak to Visit Bolsover and see how we might be able to work together with Bolsover District Council to regenerate our town centre. We've already seen investment being made available to town centres in our area, with £25 million of funding going to Clay Cross as part of the town deal.
We have tremendous potential for businesses to thrive in our town centres, right throughout the constituency. There are so many brilliant, passionate and innovative entrepreneurs that have what it takes to kick start the recovery of high street shopping in the constituency.
I know that they share my vision for rejuvenating our town centres and they have the skills and determination to do just that.
I’m looking forward to working with them and the District Council to make our towns bustling centres of activity and community once more.”
