Following the continued success of the vaccine roll out and restrictions – the UK moves onto stage 3 of the Prime Minister’s road map.
From today, pubs bars and restaurants will be able to open their doors to customers and allow indoor service, something that has been sorely missed during the poor weather in recent months.
People will also be able to meet indoors from today, with either up to 6 people or two different households, up to 30 people can now meet together outside marking the largest relaxation of restrictions in months.
More leisure activities will also open, with museums, cinemas and children’s play areas all getting the green light from today. Organised sport will also resume and hotels will be allowed to have their guests return.
International travel will also re-start with travellers able to visit countries on the UK’s green list, without having to quarantine when they return.

“Today we pass another important milestone on the road of getting back to life as normal. The last year has been incredibly hard on businesses and individuals and I’m sure that today will be special, especially for those in the hospitality industry.
We’ve managed to get to this stage in part thanks to the brilliant work of volunteers and the NHS. The speed at which they’ve rolled out the vaccine programme is unbelievable.
We’ve come so far over the last few months and there is so much to look forward to. We must of course continue to be cautious and not let our guard down as the new Indian variant looks as though it is more transmissible. The new variant has shown us how important it is that we all continue to get vaccinated and so I would urge residents to continue booking in for their vaccines as soon you are offered a chance.
However, today is an important day in getting back to life as normal and I couldn’t be happier.”
