Mark has welcomed this weeks Queen’s Speech as a huge opportunity to level up the Bolsover constituency.
The Queen’s Speech yesterday was delivered to MPs outlining the Government’s ambitious plans to level up the Bolsover constituency and build back better from the pandemic.
The plans covered a range of measures to deliver on people’s priorities including, backing the NHS, building more affordable housing, making the streets of Bolsover safer, supporting job, education, growth, and working towards net-zero carbon by 2050.
Commenting Mark said:
“I’m really pleased to be supporting the Government’s plans to spread opportunities, jobs and growth across the county, including right here in the Bolsover constituency.
I stood on a manifesto that pledged to make our streets safer, build more affordable housing throughout the constituency, and backing the NHS. I'm really pleased that this Queen's Speech re-affirms the Government's commitment to those pledges.
There are a range of measures in yesterday’s Queen’s Speech that give us the chance to make a positive difference to peoples lives here in Bolsover and the East Midlands.
Whether that’s bringing in an education recovery plan to help young people catch up on the learning that they’ve sadly lost due to the pandemic, to getting on with delivering the East Midlands Freeport so that it can bring jobs and investment to the region. There’s so much to look forward to.”
Yesterday’s Queen’s Speech included (amongst many other things) pledges to prioritise the recovery of NHS services with £29 billion for the NHS this year, bringing forward important adult social care reforms, plans to publish a levelling up white paper and introducing the Skills and Post-16 Education Bill to revolutionise post-16 education.
