Last week Mark Fletcher visited the Shirebrook Neighbourly Allotment Group (SNAG) to meet with the volunteers who come together from the Shirebrook community to grow food and combat loneliness.
SNAG have done brilliant work since setting up earlier this year in bringing together people who are struggling with isolation to grow food naturally, make the most of the fresh air and work together with other members of the local community. This has been particularly successful during the Covid-19 pandemic over this year as SNAG have been able to provide over 2000 meals to those who are vulnerable in our local area, delivering naturally, locally grown food to those who need it.

“I'd like to say a massive thank you to those that have been running the project. They continue to do fantastic work in Shirebrook and have brought people together in very difficult times. I'd also like to say thank you for the big box of produce they gave me!”
