Mark has called residents to have their say on the proposed expansion of Mickley Infant School as part of the public consultation.
Derbyshire County Council are currently undertaking a public consultation on proposals to turn Mickley Infant School into a junior school with key stage 2 provisions.
The proposals were drawn up following a number of long-standing challenges faced by pupils, parents and staff. The plans we’re in part put into place following an expected increase in the number of school places needed locally due to new housing developments.
Commenting Mark said:
“I’m really pleased that Derbyshire County Council are looking into expanding Mickley Infant School. There are a number of challenges that the school has faced over recent years and the new development can solve some of those issues.
I’d encourage as many people as possible to have their say and make their voices heard. We have the chance to improve education facilities in the village but we need to make sure that people have their say on the proposals.”
If approved the new plans will add new key stage 2 classrooms to the school, as well as adding other new facilities for staff and students.
