Mark has welcomed the Equality Commissions investigation into the attainment of white working class boys.
The Prime Minister’s equality commission confirmed it will look at the education attainment gap of white boys in working class communities. The Bolsover constituency has the lowest annual wage, lowest percentage of adults qualified to NVQ level 4+, and the second lowest GCSE attainment in Derbyshire.
Education and opportunity are right at the heart of Mark’s agenda for levelling up Bolsover constituency. However statistics have shown that a number of factors have meant that communities right throughout the Bolsover constituency have sadly fallen behind over a number of years.
Commenting Mark said:
“I’d like to thank Ben Bradley MP and the Blue Collar Conservatives for leading this campaign, and for raising awareness on this most important issue.
I welcome any study which helps to reduce barriers to social mobility, and increases the level of opportunity for children.
As I said in my maiden speech in January, I believe the central part of this Government’s mission is to give working class kids in Bolsover and elsewhere, the best possible start in life.”
