Today the Prime Minister announced his roadmap out of lockdown – setting out the timeline for getting back to life as normal following the national lockdown.
As cases continue to fall, the Prime Minister today laid out the time scales and conditions for cautiously and carefully coming out of lockdown.

“I’m really pleased that the Prime Minister has laid out the road map for exiting lockdown today following what has been an incredibly difficult period for many.
Business and individuals can start to make plans again and look start having things to look forward to once more.
I’s just like to say thank you to everyone throughout the Bolsover constituency, from Pinxton right up to Whitwell for their sacrifice and hard work. Better days are ahead.”
The road map will be permanent and will mark the end of lockdown throughout the country.
There are 4 stages to the Prime Minister’s road map which will detail the UK’s exit from the national lockdown:
- Stage 1 starting on the 8th March – will see the return of schools and other education settings. Outdoor sports such as golf will be allowed to re-start and people can meet up to 6 others outdoors.
- Stage 2 starting no earlier than the 12th April – Pubs and restaurants re-open to allow outdoor eating and drinking. Gyms and indoor leisure will re-open. Non-essential retail, hair dressers and beauty salons will re-open.
- Stage 3 starting no earlier than the 17th May – two households or up to 6 people will be able to meet indoors. Pubs and restaurants will be able to serve their customers indoors. Larger entertainment venues will be allowed to re-open and weddings and funerals will also be permitted with up to 30 guests.
- Stage 4 starting no earlier than the 21st June – There will no longer be any limits on social contact or limits on events such as weddings. Nightclubs will also be able to re-open their doors to the public.
