Today Mark Fletcher met with Matt Hancock, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. During their meeting they discussed the increased funding available for frontline NHS services, including the £33.9 billion increase in the NHS budget that the government has already committed to.
Mark Fletcher said, “Under Boris Johnson’s government, we are already spending record amounts of money on the NHS. But as I know from my experience working in healthcare, there are significant challenges still facing our NHS, particularly as our population grows and gets older.
“That’s why it’s important that we get Brexit done, so we can get back to focusing on continually improving our public services. It’s also why it’s right that this government is committing to continue substantially increase the NHS budget, so we can give it the resources it needs for the future and more than fulfil one of the key promises of the referendum campaign.”
