Over the last few weeks a number of residents from Morton, Pilsley, Stretton, and Shirland, have raised concerns to me regarding the proposed Morton solar farm.
The Eden Meadows Solar Farm, known locally as the Morton solar farm, would be located south of Danesmoor, north of Morton, and east of Stretton.

It is worth stating clearly that the proposal has not yet come forward as a planning application to North East Derbyshire District Council, but I'm aware it is at pre-consultation phase, so I wanted to start hearing the thoughts of local residents.
Whilst I am supportive of clean and renewable energy projects, this has to be in appropriate places and in consultation with local communities.
I am aware of the concerns over the scale of the the solar farm, as with the previous Alfreton/Oakerthorpe proposals, so I am keen to hear your views.
