I very much welcome the announcement by the Home Secretary that we've now recruited 11,053 extra police officers - meaning we’re well on our way to delivering 20,000 by the end of this Parliament.
After hearing back from hundreds of residents who took part in my crime surveys for Heath and Shirebrook over the summer, there was a strong demand for more bobbies on the beat. Earlier this month, I asked the Minister for Policing what action he is taking to get more officers on our streets and he provided an update on police recruitment in Derbyshire
I am delighted that 125 more officers have been recruited across our region. This will help tackle anti-social behaviour, cut crime, and keep our streets safe.
