“I’m absolutely delighted that the Government is marking the start of Mental Health Awareness Week by announcing new funding into mental health services for young people.
It’s so important the teachers and schools have the tools they need to effectively support pupils and young people with mental health issues. As we begin to understand more and more about mental health, its vital that people can find the support that they need in whatever environment they’re in”
The new investment will be offered to 7,500 schools throughout the UK and will provide a senior member of staff with the knowledge and skills to help increase understanding of mental health issues and support options throughout the school.
This means that the schools will be better placed to understand mental health issues and provide a better link between services and individuals who require support.
