I am delighted that new regulations will mean all new homes, non-residential buildings, and those that undergo major renovation, will be required to have a electric vehicle charging point installed. This is something that a number of constituent's have previously raised with me and I am very pleased that the Government are taking this forward.
These world-leading regulations will see the installation of hundreds of thousands of extra charge points ahead of the 2030 phase out date of petrol and diesel cars and vans, boosting green jobs across the country.
We expect the regulations to be laid in December and to come into force mid-2022.
