Celebrations and tributes to the UK Armed Forces pour in to mark this year’s Armed Forces Week.
To celebrate Armed Forces Week a group of Conservative MPs (veteran MPs in the foreground) joined to celebrate our service men and women.
Mark announced his support for efforts by my Conservative colleagues Jonathan Gullis MP (Stoke-on-Trent North), James Sunderland MP (Bracknell), and Lee Anderson MP (Ashfield) regarding The Desecration of War Memorials Bill, which would create an explicit offence for those damaging our memorials to our fallen heroes. He stated:
‘’We owe a great deal to those who risk their lives to preserve our democracy, freedoms, and way of life.
The armed forces have protected us against foreign enemies whether that is nation states or terrorist organisations.
They help deliver aid and international development on humanitarian missions across the world, and assist the British people in hardship, as seen during the floods and this pandemic. They represent the best of us, and the best of Britain. Thank you for your service.’’
