Mark Fletcher has hailed the extension of the Job Retention Scheme throughout the UK until the end of October.
The Job Retention Scheme, otherwise known as the Furlough Scheme has been a huge success so far throughout the UK and has supported many jobs right throughout the Bolsover constituency. The chancellor announced the Furlough Scheme back in March this year following the national lockdown and since then many have gone onto receive support whilst not being able to work.
Commenting Mark said:
"I'm delighted that the Chancellor has decided to extend the Furlough Scheme right throughout the Summer and into the Autumn to ensure that we're supporting as many people as possible throughout the pandemic.
I know how hard people and companies have found the last few weeks and I'm so pleased that the Government have been able to step in and protect people's livelihoods and jobs.
People deserve support and certainty in these challenging and worrying times and the Government is determined to provide that as much as we can."
The Furlough Scheme allows people who are not able to work to retain their jobs on 80% of their current salary, meaning that people can continue to pay the bill and look after their families.
