Mark and Bolsover District Council come together to support green and sustainable energy projects.
Mark Fletcher MP met with the Coal Authority and Bolsover District Council regarding the use of mine water as a sustainable form of heat and energy in new housing developments, such as at the former Whitwell Colliery site.
Commenting on the project Mark said:
‘’There’s great potential to use former mines as a source of sustainable energy. It has the potential to help the environment, provide cheaper heating and act as a source of revenue for local authorities.
I look forward to continuing these conversations and finding a way to help ensure we have a widespread roll out of these schemes’’
