On Friday Mark Fletcher visited Shirebrook academy ahead of the return of children to schools in September.
Mark met with the Principal Mr Cottingham to see the plans in place to keep the school Covid secure so that children can return to face to face education as soon as it is safe to do so. Schools are currently continuing with remote teaching for the last fortnight before the summer holidays, and Mark is optimistic that with efforts like those seen at Shirebrook Academy it will be possible for children to return to the classroom at the start of the new school year.

“I take my hat off to Mr Cottingham and all his team for the amazing work they have done to get this place ready. It is a real testament to the hard work of Headteachers and teachers across the constituency that are in a situation where they have plenty of kids back at school now and in September they will all be back. Thank you very much to Mr Cottingham and all of his team, I am really looking forward to working with them to keep helping the kids in Shirebrook.”
