Mark Fletcher MP visited the Coalite site on Buttermilk Lane to meet with members of the Coalite Regeneration Project to discuss their plans for the future
Mark recently visited the former Coalite site outside Bolsover and met with members of the Coalite Regeneration Project who gave Mark a tour of the site. The aim of the project – which Mark thoroughly backs – is to clean up and develop the former Coalite Works (which have been derelict since 2004) in order to create hundreds of new jobs in the area. The project is currently being delivered by Bolsover Land Ltd, a joint venture between iSec and St Francis Group.
In addition to private investment, the project has received additional funding from the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby (which has green lit a £5.8 million grant for land preparation) and Derbyshire County Council (which has committed a £2 million grant to the project).
Commenting on the visit Mark said,
“The plans to develop the former Coalite works just outside Bolsover are very vital to the future of the constituency. If properly developed, the site would play a really important part of our future economic strategy in this region with the jobs it would provide and the investment it would attract. It was also a pleasure to meet the team behind this fantastic project whose passion for the scheme is really great to see”
