Last week Mark visited new Bolsover Start-up, Natural Doggy Treats to see how the business was going from strength to strength.
Last year after returning from Australia, entrepreneur Ben Haye added Dudley the Cockerpoo to his family. After being unable to find natural dog treats for Dudley, Ben noticed a gap in the market and set up Natural Doggy Treats.
Within a few weeks, Ben had quit his job to take up running the business full time, which he does with the help of his Mother and Fiancé in Hillstown. The business has grown significantly over the 12 months in part due to the creative use of social media.
The business has started to branch out into a number of ventures, including a subscription service, an Amazon Store and a wholesale business.
Commenting on the visit, Mark said:
“I would like first like to say congratulations to Ben for all the success he has had over the course of the last year. The use of social media to generate engagement has really set Dudley’s Natural Doggy Treats apart and it’s great to see a local start-up rapidly start to expand.
“His passion for his business is great and it’s brilliant to see how quickly the company has grown.
“I wish Ben the best of luck in the future. I know he’s keen to expand locally and believe he’ll make a success of it. I’d also like to say a huge thank you for inviting me along today and taking time out of his busy schedule.”
