“Today is International Women’s Day, and I wanted to take the opportunity to take the chance to celebrate all the fantastic women throughout the Bolsover constituency. I’ve met so many inspirational women during my time as our MP. They’ve included exciting entrepreneurs, courageous community leaders, and everyday heroes whether that’s as sisters, daughters, aunties, mums or grans. I’d like to give a particular shout out to a small handful of women that have been doing a brilliant job throughout the pandemic:
Angie Smithson – the brilliant Chief Exec at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS FT & Royal Primary Care who has been working so hard with all her staff to keep us well throughout this year.
CSI Hayley Barnett – Derbyshire Constabulary’s amazing Chief Superintendent and North Divisional Commander, keeping our streets and communities safer.
April Johnson – One of the leaders of the Community Unity Project who are constantly working to improve our community.
Anita Ollerenshaw – One of the fantastic people involved in the brilliant Rhubarb Farm”
Mark is also keen to hear from more people across the constituency about the inspirational women they know who deserve to be recognised and celebrated by us all. If anyone has any suggestions or submissions of people you think are worthy of a nomination then please write in to Mark with that person and their story.
