Mark has called on the Government to hold a debate on the powers available to local authorities and the police to help tackle anti-social behaviour.
Following last week’s meeting with Holmewood and Heath Parish Council, Mark called on the Government to hold a debate into how our communities can effectively tackle anti-social behaviour. The meeting was the latest in a list of many with parish and town councils in Bolsover where anti-social behaviour was one of the main talking points.
Making sure that communities throughout the Bolsover constituency are safe has been one of Mark’s big priorities since being elected. Sadly, too often communities have suffered with issues of anti-social behaviour with no one able to get the problem under control.
Commenting Mark said:
“After speaking with the various parish and town councils throughout the constituency, one key theme has come up as a large issue a number of times which is anti-social behaviour.
“I want to make sure that every community throughout the Bolsover constituency is a safe and welcoming place to work, live and raise a family.
The problems are caused by a very small number of individuals with most people just wanting to get on and live in a safe neighbourhood. However, that small number of people have the potential to make things unpleasant for everyone else and that must stop.”
