Earlier this week Mark met with Keeley Howson from Building Lives Around Shirebrook Town (BLAST) to discuss how community projects can be progressed in Shirebrook.
BLAST is a community focused non-for-profit Community Investment Company based in Shirebrook, focussing on supporting community projects that make a positive difference to the town.
Mark met with Keeley from the CIC to discuss a number of projects currently being undertaken in the town. Mark and Keeley discussed the need for new youth provisions and activities in the town as well as the potential for a new purpose-built youth centre.
Mark commented:
“I’m keen to do all that I can in my role as our local MP to support new initiatives and projects here in Shirebrook – including coming and speaking to Keeley from BLAST about the brilliant work they continue to do in the town.
BLAST are a massive credit to the community here in Shirebrook and have been making a huge difference locally.
I’d like to thank Keeley for taking the time to speak to me to see where we can continue working together to make a positive difference locally."
