Mark visited the community group Building Lives Around Shirebrook Town (BLAST) to mark their 48 activities in 4 weeks event.
The community group BLAST has hosted 48 events over the course of 4 weeks this summer and volunteers from the charity have been working hard with children in the community to put activities on over the last month.
Mark visited the event to see the brilliant work that the community group have been getting up to over the summer, as well as to speak to the volunteers about how their work has been making a difference to children in the Shirebrook area.
The event was held as an awards ceremony for the children who have been attending BLASTS activities over the course of the last few weeks.
Commenting after the visit, Mark said:
“I want to thank Keeley and everyone involved at BLAST for all their hard work over the course of this summer. They’ve put on so many activities for the children here and I’m so grateful for everything they’re doing to support the community.
“It’s clear to see how much the kids have loved being here and it’s been great to attend the award ceremony and seeing everyone receive an award. I hope to be back next year and would like to thank everyone involved for inviting me this afternoon.”
