I had a brilliant afternoon at South Normanton Gala. I met Sam the Macaw who is 36 years young, who is certainly a character, and enjoyed chatting with the volunteers at Parrotsinneed.co.uk - they've been doing sterling work caring for pre-loved pets, currently over 300 and sadly post lockdown were taking on 2 or 3 every week from owners who could no longer give the parrots the care needed. The gala took place in the grounds of the historic Carnfield Hall.
