Over 17,000 homes and businesses across rural Derbyshire are the latest set to be connected to the fastest broadband speeds on the market, backed by £33 million in new government investment announced today – with spades expected in the ground by next summer. The government is working with broadband suppliers to achieve 85% gigabit coverage of the UK by 2025, and then to nationwide coverage by 2030. Progress is rapid, however there are still small pockets of our constituency with terrible internet connectivity, a source of continued frustration for residents, and I will continue to push for improved connectivity to Bolsover's more rural areas.
